Oregon Scientific rolled out a cool home gadget, a RM382PA TimeSphere which is the worlds first projection clock with wireless projection sphere, designed by Stefano Giovannoni. TimeSphere will project the time in any room while the base unit stays put. It also features a radio-controlled clock ensuring you always have the right time and it will automatically recharges wirelessly when places on base unit. The display is available in five different languages with touch technology. You may request the product at Oregon Scientific, price is still unknown.
Andre Kutscherauer the 3D graphics artist has come out with a creative robot artwork showing a light bulb plugging itself to the outlet. Check out more of his art after the break.
At the first look before reading what it is, we thought it is some sort of high-tech machine but to our disappointment, its only a design concept by Ian Spring. This product is to encourage children to exercise more. This flexible kid’s vehicle for ages 9-12 allows kids to safely cut glass using a new modular cutting system. It can be transformed from a sit-up pedal powered vehicle to a low slung sports recumbent racer.
A guy called Peter has made a robotic plant watering system that uses the iPhone to take the directions. When Safari’s screen rotate from horizontal to vertical, it will send a status update to a web server via JavaScript that sets the watering can up or down. Video after the break.
Sega Toys has released a new robot toy called Ema which stands for Eternal Maiden Actualization. It can sing, it can dance and it can walk like a lady. The best of all, it can kiss you, wow. Infrared sensors were employed to avoid obstacle, and moves its elbows, shoulders, waist, and knees. It will be available in Japan in September 26th with a price tag of around 110€ ($175).
Dan Paluska and Jeff Lieberman have created the ABSOLUT QUARTET, an automated multi-instrumental orchestral machine. This large-scale electromechanical sculpture consists of three instruments and thousands of parts to create music. The main timbre is a marimba played by balls shot from the robotic canon, other components which include a series of wineglasses played by little robotic fingers and an array of robotic percussive instruments”. Ha! Bandai has officially released the Tachikoma robot. It is made from metal, when plugged to your USB port it reacts in different ways with its eyes, lights and speakers. There are several modes and mini games for you to choose from. It will alert you whenever there’s an incoming email. You will need to install the companion software in order to make it alive and it requires Japanese OS to install or an English PC with Japanese support. It’s available now for €133. This eight footed spider robot is created by MOLTENSTEELMAN. It measures 23-feet long, 11-feet tall, 8-feet wide and weighs 12,000-lb, and has made its debut at Burning Man. It is powered by a 454 Chevy V8 mated with a modified TH400 trans coupled to two klune extreme under drive planetary gear boxes, uses a rockwell 2 1/2 ton military axle to supply power to the leg crank shafts, the final drive ratio is 125:1. The legs are supported on a 4 link system and uses 56 pivot points and 114 bearings.
That’s cool right, the Dutch inventors have come out with a high-tech solution for those who are extremely lazy to filled up their car. This gas-pumping robot priced at a whopping $110, 000. It works by registering the car on arrival at the filling station and matching it to a database of fuel cap designs and fuel types.” The robotic arm employs multiple sensors, it can carefully opens the car’s flap, unscrews the cap, picks up the fuel nozzle and directs it toward the tank opening.
